Artist Bio
Kendall Quindry is an illustrative artist currently working on a B.F.A in printmaking at the University of Montana with a minor in Art History with an expected graduation in spring of 2025. She is pursuing this degree with the intention of growing as a visual based illustrator. Kendall was born in Gainesville Florida and moved around the south for most of her youth. Just before high school her family moved to Missoula Montana where she began developing her art skills outside of being self taught. She has worked on and off with freelance work, having illustrated a book cover alongside many private commissions.
Her work wants to focus on visual based subjects that provoke captivating stories onto viewers. She strives to depict a narrative in each piece that people might not take so seriously. She hopes her work can be seen as a form of visual entertainment more than anything. Kendall has been a part of multiple group exhibitions as a part of her school and local communities.
In addition to her fine arts work she is also the owner of a small business, Whimsical Wearables MT, specializing in miniature sculpture of food items that acts as jewelry. She started making these miniatures in 2012 and founded her business in 2020. Kendall has always been interested in the arts and in the way that visual media has a fascinating ability to capture anything possible or impossible through imagery. She hopes to continue pursuing narrative based stories through illustration and fine arts.
Artist Statement
My work is based around finding visually entertaining scenes that capture the relationship between different subjects. Mostly focusing on people and animals, I wish to use elements of line and value in relation with printmaking, painting, and drawing to illustrate a story. I intend to provide interchangeable narratives that might allow viewers to interject their own thoughts and ideas into the setting.
